Back in 2013, I started thinking…
of a new career away from the corporate world. I grew convinced that there was a need for bespoke wedding cakes and celebration cakes combining France’s finest patisserie recipes and techniques with British artistic, quirky, creative flair – ohhhhh and really innovative chocolate work. I couldn’t find anywhere like that, so I left the corporate world to set up Pudding Fairy in 2014. My mission is really simple: To create (and share) delicious happiness for you.
Your perfect wedding cake….
Are you getting married soon? You might be ooking for a decadent chocolate wedding cake, to be delivered at your wedding venue in Sussex, Surrey or Hampshire*. Maybe you have a really clear picture in your head of the design you want. Perhaps a natural style buttercream tiered cake: Wavy texture, very romantic, and lots and lots of fresh English garden flowers cascading down from the tiers. Or a stunning chocolate wedding cake. Perhaps something a little more playful with caramel dripping down, French macarons for a little “oh la la”, berries, even giant chocolate flowers. Then again maybe you have absolutely no idea where to begin about getting your wedding cake sorted (don’t worry I can help as much or as little as you’d like with your design). You might also….want one type of cake, and your other half wants a different type – you’d like someone who can suggest a solution that works for both of you.
Celebration and party time…
Perhaps you are not getting married. You’re having a celebration, a special day and you want a cake to add a little extra magic to your day. It might be a birthday cake, a wedding anniversary cake or perhaps a Christnening cake. I can create the perfect celebration cake for you from £50 (excluding delivery, if delivery costs apply).

Maybe you are not after a cake, rather a day or a few hours when you just talk cake, patisserie and chocolate whilst learning new skills. You might have a friend, or friends who are cake mad and would love a cake decorating class – Not a super expensive demo with a famous chef. More like a fun, interactive workshop that’s not overwhelming, and gives you the chance to learn something new whatever your abilities. You might even be a really good baker who doesn’t need anyone to make a cake for them. You’re just a bit stuck for a cake design idea or unsure of trying a new cake decorating, chocolate or patisserie technique.You just need to find a little confidence.
Perhaps you manage a hotel or a venue, or you’re an event planner looking for a really cool “Bake Off” style experience for your clients. And then, get in touch. It’s ok if you are not sure about what you want yet. I always say to people who are planning their wedding or an event, better to get in touch as early as possible when you have found someone you’d like to work with. A lot of dates get booked 6, 12, sometimes 18 months in advance. Once you get in touch, you can ask me to save the date for you for a couple of weeks – just until you have enough information to make a decision. There’s no obligation at that stage for you, and it’s completely free. But it does prevent someone else taking that date and booking it first. You can also firm up our date with a deposit for extra security.

My name is Laure Moyle. My customers tell me I am one of the most extraordinary cake makers in Sussex. I’ll leave it to you to decide. But, that really does make me smile since I reconverted to a life of pastry to follow my passion for cakes and chocolate. Inspired by French patisseries, my love of chocolate and West Sussex where I live, I will design your bespoke wedding cake following your ideas, budget and also your lifestyle, to add a little magic to your celebration, special day or corporate event.
I was born in France and brought up in the Beaujolais area. I have always had a VERY sweet tooth, as well as a penchant for gatherings friends round a meal, delicious food, horses, sunshine and travelling. Whilst studying Economics at University, I earnt a living selling cakes and breads in an amazing Boulangerie-Patisserie. Little did I know at the time that I would come around full circle to it!
Fast forward…At the end of a season training polo ponies in Paris for a couple of owners, I followed a group of friends to London. I landed a job at…Maison Blanc. Whilst working there, I totally and utterly fell in love with England…and an Englishman.
London was my home for several years, then Surrey, and finally West Sussex which I love and will probably never leave. In London, I spent several years working as an event manager, running high end corporate events at venues like the V&A, The Royal Albert Hall, Kew Gardens and many others. Life then took me to a career in digital marketing. Enjoying baking as a hobby, I used my spare time to visit patisseries and chocolateries everywhere I could, and enjoy numerous afternoon teas.
I am passionate about bold taste and contrasting textures. Whether for personal or corporate events, my patisserie creations are about giving you a wonderful experience and delicious memories to treasure for ever.
Self taught, I attend professional courses as often as I can. I have trained with talented chefs including the lovely John Whaite (on his very first class!), Will Torrent and the Michalak team in Paris. At the moment I am focusing on chocolate work. After meeting Mark TIlling when we competed against each other on BBC2 Bake Off: Creme de la Creme 2016, I have had the chance to train with Mark to learn making giant chocolate flowers. I returned to the Chocolate Academy and Squires Kitchen School to complete 2 advanced professional courses on chocolate showpieces (up to 1 metre high).
Wedding magazines and press regularly feature my work and I was very lucky to collaborate on “A Year of Cake” recipe book from the Clandestine Cake Club (I am part of the Chichester club).
As for Pudding Fairy, after just 2 years, it’s become one of the preferred/recommended suppliers at the following venues: Goodwood Hotel, Goodwood House, the Kennels at Goodwood, Hound Lodge at Goodwood, Cissbury Barn, Brookfield Barn, Southend Barn, Little Thakeham, Baltholomew Barn, Filtzeroi Barn, Ramster Hal, The Leconfield and Kingscote Estate. It’s a tremendous vote of confidence I feel very proud of.
